Food for Thought

Here's some food for thought: some of the best stories often begin with someone else's ending.

This week's #MugMonday features Chef Nicolle Walker, founder of Love and Plates, and her favorite thrifted mug.

A gift from her niece, Nicolle says, "The earthy colors and whimsical design made her think of me. She thought I would love the idea of giving new life to something that someone else had lost value in. She was 1000% right!"

☀️ By day, Nicolle and her team at Love & Plates provide high-end catering and prepared meal delivery service across northern NJ. The food is locally sourced and sustainably prepared to help busy people support a healthy lifestyle.

🌝 By night, Nicolle is on a mission to help alleviate food insecurity in Northern NJ. She volunteers with organizations like Table to Table, a food rescue program that collects perishable food that would otherwise be wasted and delivers it to organizations serving the hungry across Bergen, Hudson, Essex, Morris, and Passaic counties.

Just like her mug, perfectly good food gets overlooked and discarded every day. Nicolle is rewriting that narrative and showing us that what others see as an ending is just the beginning of something beautiful.
